LAWCMU Renews MoU with the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC)

On 3 February 2026, the Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University, held a ceremony to renew a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) at the Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Suriyapong Tubtimtae, Managing Director of the Thailand Arbitration Center, and Assistant Professor Dr. Chainarong Luengvilai, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University, together with executives and representatives from both institutions, who attended as witnesses.

Both parties emphasized that this renewed collaboration reflects their shared commitment to promoting legal knowledge and enhancing legal capacity building, particularly in the field of alternative dispute resolution, which plays an increasingly important role in the contemporary legal system.

The renewal of this MoU will serve as an important foundation for the development of academic activities, teaching and learning initiatives, and practical learning experiences for students and staff of both institutions, fostering sustainable and tangible cooperation in the future.

In conjunction with this collaboration, the Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University, also hosted the 7th National Mediation Competition 2026 (Northern Region) from 3–4 February 2026 at the Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University. The competition welcomed law students from various universities across Northern Thailand, providing a valuable platform to enhance practical skills in commercial mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
