Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University (CMU)

Our Architecture: “The Complex of Justice” The Faculty of Law complex is elegantly situated between the Tad Chompoo and Ang Kaew reservoirs, framed by the majestic backdrop of Doi Suthep mountain. The architecture draws profound inspiration from the “Basilica,” a classical Roman structure dating back to the 2nd century BCE, originally used as a public hall and a court of justice. This heritage is harmoniously integrated with Contemporary Lanna Aesthetics, reflecting our local identity. The interior is meticulously designed as a professional learning hub, featuring a state-of-the-art Moot Court, a comprehensive Law Library, and innovative learning spaces dedicated to legal evolution.

Philosophy & Atmosphere

We are committed to cultivating a learning environment that honors Human Dignity and strengthens the intersection between Law and Society. Moving beyond traditional rote memorization of statutes, our curriculum is intentionally designed to bridge Jurisprudence with Social Sciences and Humanities. By employing critical research methodologies, we empower our students to address and resolve complex social challenges through a socio-legal lens.

Our Core Mission

1.Educational Innovation: To develop progressive curricula that produce graduates who embody both professional excellence and ethical integrity, capable of competing on a global stage.

2.Proactive Research & Public Service: To generate impactful research that creates economic value and provides effective solutions for local and national social issues.

3.Cultural & Environmental Stewardship: To preserve, revive, and sustain the artistic, cultural, and environmental heritage of our local community for future generations.
